Almost three years after it was opened and thanks to the excellent work by the kitchen staff, the Refectorio restaurant has been awarded its first Michelin star.
The hotel’s head chef is Marc Segarra, who trained at the Mugaritz restaurant and has sufficient experience to apply the philosophy upheld by Andoni Luis Aduriz. Marc bases his culinary ideas on a creative interpretation of tradition and the use of local ingredients.
The establishment has other two distinct spaces and culinary offers to service all types of customers: Vinoteca and Jardín del Claustro.
Jardín del Claustro has been converted in a restaurant where lovers of fine food and wine can enjoy a uniquely memorable culinary experience against a simply stunning backdrop. Converting a space that was originally used for introspection and soothing the soul into a place for enjoying good food and wine in company is both surprising and original. Indeed, open during the spring and summer months this is the perfect spot in which to relax and enjoy a setting that combines history and culinary art – a new way of nourishing and enriching the spirit. This space serves simple cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients. The choice of dishes ranges from salads and Iberian cured meat platters to rice and grilled meat dishes – ideal for enjoying in the open air.
